Future plans for PUBG MOBILE unveiled at the PMGC Grand Finale
12/11/2023 - At the Grand Finals of the PUBG MOBILE Global Championship (PMGC), Rick Li, the producer of PUBG MOBILE, gave exciting insights into the future developments of the game. He presented the achievements of 2023 and impressively outlined what fans can expect in the future.
The highlight of the announcements was the upcoming version 3.0 update, which is due to be released in January. This update promises to transform players into futuristic warriors and provide them with powerful new equipment. Li hinted that these new additions are based on the previous cryptic hints on PUBG MOBILE's social media.
Another focus of Li's speech was the numerous expansions and optimizations planned for PUBG MOBILE. There will be variations on classic maps, as well as new levels and structures. Improvements are also planned for vehicle controls, connectivity and the general performance of the game. A major update also awaits the Metro Royale mode, which will introduce a new snow-covered map and new challenging bosses.
The World of Wonder, a mode that allows players to create and share their own content, was only introduced this year and is set to receive significant updates soon. These include the introduction of new home game features that allow players to create their own little world and invite friends to visit it. Li emphasized the team's commitment to improving the editor and further simplifying accessibility to content creation.
To support the growing community of content creators in PUBG MOBILE, Li announced that the game will invest $100 million in resources into the World of Wonder ecosystem. In addition, an incentive program will be introduced with an additional $10 million in resources.
Li also highlighted PUBG MOBILE's ongoing commitment to fighting cheating and inappropriate online behavior. Thanks to the work of its dedicated investigators, who have conducted over one million inspections this year alone, the game has been able to ban 14 million accounts and 350,000 devices for violations. In recognition of their efforts, the Gold Investigator Set was introduced.
