07/01/2024 - PUBG MOBILE has announced a number of exciting updates for the upcoming versions 3.4 and 3.5 at gamescom LATAM 2024. Players can look forward to new themes, weapons and gameplay improvements.

At gamescom LATAM 2024, the Latin American edition of the world's biggest gaming event, PUBG MOBILE unveiled a series of exciting updates for the future of the game. Fernando Mazza, Head of Operations for Brazil at Level Infinite, and James Yang, Senior Director of the Global Esports Center at Level Infinite, Tencent Games, gave insights into upcoming releases and new features players can expect soon.

Since its launch in 2018, PUBG MOBILE has continued to evolve and establish itself as a leading game in the gaming and esports community. With over 1 billion downloads worldwide and over 50 million daily active users, PUBG MOBILE remains a favorite among mobile gamers.

One of the biggest innovations is the introduction of the first dual-wield weapon system, which will be integrated into the game in the course of 2024. This feature promises additional tactical depth and strategic possibilities in gameplay. Other improvements to classic gameplay include optimizations to weapons and vehicles, as well as the ability to heal on the fly, opening up new strategic options.

Players can also use in-game tokens to purchase a key that allows them to control the Mobile Shop Vehicle on the Erangel, Miramar, Livik and Sanhok maps. In addition, new weapon optimizations have been introduced, such as the shoot-through effect for sniper rifles and a reworked P90.

Version 3.4 will feature an exciting "Werewolf vs Vampire" theme with a new game mechanic where players can use the ability to transform. This version also introduces new themed areas such as Gothic Castles and Werewolf Tribes as well as the new War Horse mount. Version 3.5 will then put players around the world in a festive mood with a "Frozen" theme.

On the esports front, it was announced that the PUBG MOBILE Global Open (PMGO) 2025 will take place in Uzbekistan. This follows a successful debut of the PMGO in São Paulo, Brazil, where Team Reject won the title and the lion's share of the $500,000 USD prize pool. Additionally, the PUBG MOBILE World Cup (PMWC) will take place from July 19-28.

PUBG MOBILE has also been nominated for the Esports Game of the Year and Mobile Esports Game of the Year categories at the Esports Awards, which will take place in Riyadh in August.
