Flying sand, reward stores and bug fixes: RuneScape in March

03/17/2025 - RuneScape starts the week with an exciting event and numerous improvements. In addition to new rewards at the Altar of Time, there are extensive updates designed to optimize the gaming experience.
Flying sand event and magical rewards
From March 17, players will have the opportunity to take part in a time-limited adventure in the new shifting sands event. The recently discovered Time Altar has brought with it unforeseen consequences: a mishap by the Time Mage Dustin has caused a disturbance in the flow of time. To solve this problem, players can collect "Sands of Time" by using skills or engaging in combat during the event. Progress will be rewarded, especially when crafting runes.
The collected Sands of Time can be exchanged with the Time Mage Dustin, who is located at the entrance to the Tower of Mages. The reward is exciting items such as the Time Magic costume and a matching title. The event runs until March 30 and offers the opportunity to secure magical collectibles.
Improvements to the reward shops
In addition to the event, RuneScape has made improvements to the reward stores used in seasonal hubs such as Christmas, Easter and Halloween. With the latest update, players can better view their rewards before purchasing them. Newly added preview windows show in detail what in-game items look like before they are unlocked. The interface for seasonal cosmetic items in the closet has also been improved so that players can see exactly where and when which items are available.
These changes come just in time, as the Easter event with fresh rewards is about to start. Special credit for this update goes to Mod Luma, who was responsible for these optimizations.
Corrections and improvements
In addition to the major new features, there have been numerous smaller adjustments and bug fixes to further improve the gaming experience:
- Rune crafting: The Blood Altar can now be configured for multiple purposes, and some tweaks have been made to the crafting process.
- Gameplay: Visual bugs in various battles and weapons have been fixed, for example with the Rex Matriarchs and the Divine Retribution spell.
- General optimizations: Inventory issues, error messages and outdated animations have been reworked, for example when using magic weapons or certain consumables.
Players can also look forward to updates to the user interface, which should further improve navigation and finding your way around the game.
Treasure hunter highlights
From March 20 to 24, the "Tinkerer's Path" will be launched in Treasure Hunter mode. Players can collect curiosities to earn up to 8x multipliers. Particularly ambitious adventurers should keep an eye out for the brand new Hellforge Warrior armor, which is currently in production.
