Countdown to the German Computer Game Award 2022

DCP

03/23/2022 - The German Computer Game Prize (DCP) will be awarded on Thursday, March 31, 2022, starting at 7:30 pm: In the Tonhalle in Munich, the nominees are feverish. The award ceremony will be hosted by Katrin Bauerfeind and entertainer Uke Bosse.

For the second time, the pre-show with exclusive interviews and insights into the DCP and the German games industry will take place. For this purpose, on Thursday, March 24, 2022, starting at 8:00 p.m., streamer Ollimeee and host Michael Obermeier will welcome the guests in a live stream. Per #derDCP, all viewers are invited to actively participate in both shows on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.

After two purely digitally implemented award ceremonies, this year the German Computer Game Award 2022 will be held as a hybrid event. In the Tonhalle in Munich on Thursday, March 31, 2022, the moderator duo Katrin Bauerfeind and Uke Bosse will welcome the nominees and numerous laudators on site and in the livestream all viewers at the screens. Streamer Ollimeee moderates the community bar and gets the reactions of the viewers directly into the show.

The coveted trophies will once again be awarded by prominent presenters, including Markus Söder, Minister President of the Free State of Bavaria, Michael Kellner, Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection, presenter Jana Forkel, author Markus Heitz, drag queen Aria Addams and many well-known faces from the games industry and e-sports scene.

"Computer games are a fundamental driver of digitalization. The Free State of Bavaria has therefore been sustainably promoting the establishment of new studios and the development of games for years. The German Computer Game Award is a great stage to honor the outstanding games of the year and the creative teams behind the games. We are therefore delighted that the 2022 award ceremony will once again be held locally in Munich and are keeping our fingers crossed for all the nominees," said Minister of State Judith Gerlach. The Bavarian State Ministry for Digital Affairs is sponsoring the German Computer Game Award 2022.

Following last year`s success, the 2022 pre-show will once again provide an entertaining and informative warm-up to the big award ceremony. On Thursday, March 24, 2022, at 20:00, the moderation team of Ollimeee and Michael Obermeier will welcome well-known faces from the games community as well as nominated developers from the industry on Twitch. In exclusive interviews, they give insights into their nominated games or compete in quiz sessions. Streamed the pre-show here.

The DCP 2022 is endowed with prize money totaling 800,000 euros and is awarded in 16 categories. The organizers of the DCP are the German government as well as the game - Association of the German Games Industry.
