- ESL Challenger League Season 47: February - June / Online.
Similar to the ESL Pro League, the ESL Challenger League (ECL) will also be adjusted from 2024. Instead of four seasons a year, the online league will continue with two seasons in the new year. These two Seasons will have a more flexible schedule and run over a longer period of time than before to minimize overlaps with other ESL Pro Tour tournaments - including the ESL Pro League - and provide teams competing in the ESL Challenger League with sufficient breaks and recovery time.
In addition, South American teams that have competed against European, North American and Asian teams in previous Seasons will now be able to compete in regional online tournaments starting in Season 47. In addition, the ECL 2024 will also be available in Australia and New Zealand. On the one hand, this will give teams more opportunities to prove themselves and make the leap to the next level of competition, and on the other hand, it will also provide a solid base for aspiring semi-professional and professional teams in the regions. More information on the format and prize money per region will be announced later.
Grassroots Tournaments
New and aspiring Counter-Strike players and teams from specific regions can compete, develop their skills, and advance through the ESEA League offered on the FACEIT platform. Depending on the player's region, these online Grassroots tournaments offer multiple levels of competition - Open, Intermediate, Main and Advanced - from where teams eventually advance to the ESL Challenger League.
"It's that time again: we invite fans, teams, players and partners to join us for an eventful 2024 Counter-Strike year," said Shaun Clark, Senior Director of Game Ecosystems - Counter-Strike. "We are entering an exciting new phase in the history of Counter-Strike, and as we continue to optimize our ecosystem to better reach players at every level and from around the world, the 2024 ESL Pro Tour program will also be a new milestone for us. We look forward to embarking on this journey with all of you."
