DreamHack Dallas: Esports events worth over 1 million dollars announced

05/17/2024 - DreamHack Dallas 2024 offers an extensive esports program with 13 tournaments and over 1 million dollars in prize money from May 31 to June 2.

From May 31 to June 2, 2024, the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center will host one of the most traditional gaming festivals in North America: DreamHack Dallas. Organized by the ESL FACEIT Group (EFG), the event promises a variety of video game-related activities and competitions. With a total of 13 esports tournaments and prize money of over 1 million US dollars, the festival attracts both professional gamers and up-and-coming talent.

In addition to the world-famous LAN party, DreamHack Dallas offers a wide range of entertainment options. Visitors can look forward to panel presentations, trade shows, art, cosplay and meet-and-greets with well-known creators. A special highlight is the opportunity to qualify for the world's first Esports World Cup, taking place this summer in Riyadh. Prize money totaling 60 million US dollars is at stake.

Shahin Zarrabi, Vice President of Festivals at ESL FACEIT Group, emphasizes the long-standing importance of esports to DreamHack Dallas: "Esports has been a staple of the festival since its inception and we are excited to once again invite tens of thousands of fans to celebrate their favorite games this summer."

A special attraction is the first international live event of the Overwatch Champions Series (OWCS). Eight top teams will showcase their skills and compete for a crowdfunded prize pool. Fans can follow the competitions both on site and via official streams.

Another highlight is the continuation of the ESL Pro Tour for StarCraft® II. At the ESL SC2 Masters: Spring 2024 Finals, participants will compete for their share of the USD 100,000 prize pool and a qualification for the Esports World Cup.

DreamHack Fighters offers fighting game fans six open tournaments, including classics like Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and new titles like Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising. For the first time, there will also be competitions for Tekken 8 and Street Fighter 6, which will also be competing for qualification for the Esports World Cup and prize money of 50,000 US dollars each.

Tickets for DreamHack Dallas are available from US$35 for one day and US$99 for all three days.
