Submission phase for 2023 started

Deutscher Entwicklerpreis

07/26/2023 - On Thursday, December 7, 2023, the games industry will meet for the presentation of the German Developer Award (DEP) at the Flora in Cologne. The best computer games of the year will be honored. From now on, developer teams, publishers and newcomers can submit their games. The submission phase ends on September 1, 2023 at 11:59 pm.

The German Developer Award has been presented annually since 2004, making it the oldest award in the games industry. It honors outstanding achievements in the development of video and computer games from Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The event is hosted by games.nrw e.V., the representative body of the digital games industry in North Rhine-Westphalia.

The organizers have further developed the award this year. Thus, the category "Studio of the Year" will be reintroduced by popular demand from the industry. The categories "Studio of the Year", "NRW Promotion Award for Young Female Developers" and "Special Award for Social Commitment" are now so-called submission categories, i.e. from now on active submissions can also be made in these categories. A meaningful justification must be submitted. Projects, studios and individuals can also be proposed by third parties.
