Now playable with crossplay on PC, PlayStation and Xbox

03/04/2025 - War Robots: Frontiers is now free to play on PC, PlayStation and Xbox. The new chapter in the War Robots universe offers tactical mech battles with cross-play support. Players can choose from over 18 war machines, explore dynamic maps and experience different game modes. Season 1 also marks the start of the first major content update.
Tactical mech battles on PC and console
War Robots: Frontiers is now available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam and the MY.GAMES Launcher. The new installment in the War Robots series focuses on tactical multiplayer battles and runs on Unreal Engine 5. Players control their own giant war machines and fight in PvP battles on different maps and modes.
Individual mechs with numerous customization options
Players have the opportunity to customize their War Robots. More than five million combinations are possible by combining over 115 modules. There are 18 different mechs available at launch, including:
- Varangian (Flanker): Uses energy domes for protection and performs powerful attacks.
- Ravana (Defender): Can protect itself and allies and is designed for defensive strategies.
- Typhon (Tactician): Attacks from a distance and can block enemy weapons.
- Fenrir (Assault): Specializes in close and medium range, with high regeneration and speed.
Each mech has a unique movement system that realistically simulates the weight and power of the machines.
Dynamic maps and modes
Four maps with tactical elements are included at launch:
- Terminus: a frozen asteroid with strategic energy barriers.
- Fissure: A snowy refinery with height differences and deadly traps.
- Spectrum: A secret research base with elevated positions for snipers.
- Catalyst: A volcanic geothermal plant with contested elevated positions.
Three game modes provide for varied battles:
- Warp Rush: Conquer and control warp gates for tactical advantage.
- Last Robot Standing: An elimination mode in which teams must defeat all opponents.
- Team Deathmatch: Score points by destroying enemy War Robots and Titans.
Season 1: Blockade brings new content
The official launch also marks the start of Season 1: Blockade, the first major wave of content. It brings with it the new Terminus map, Leagues, additional challenges and two Battle Passes. The first Battle Pass "Under the Wire" will be released on March 11 and features the new War Robot Cyclops, among other things. Further updates with new mechs, maps and modes are already being planned.
