Indie Arena Booth gets even bigger this year!
07/11/2023 - The Indie Arena Booth at gamescom returns to Cologne from August 23 to 27, 2023. Indie developers from 33 countries will showcase the full range of their creativity at the completely redesigned Indie booth. More studios than ever before - over 300 - applied for a spot in the curated lineup of the Indie Arena Booth - about 160 of them will be there this year.
Indie developers and publishers from all over the world will present the fruits of their labor on almost 1,600 square meters in Hall 10.2: Deck13, Raw Fury, Playstack, Phoenixx Inc, Fireshine Games and many more will be there. Nintendo will also be showing eight of the most promising titles for the Nintendo Switch in a separate area.
In addition, the representatives of individual states and federal states such as Swiss Games, Games Bavaria, delegations from Catalonia or Northern Ireland and many more will do the honors. No genre mix is too wild and no setting too unusual: How about a tactical ISO RPG about love and loyalty like Arcadian Atlas? Or would you prefer the cozy life sim Tiny Bookshop, in which players run their own second-hand bookstore? Or maybe an action platformer about a man in a bunny costume - Super Bunny Man?
Also included are some of the most promising games from German studios: Mimimi Games will be showing the pirate stealth tactics game Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew, and the creator of the original Settlers games will be presenting its new building game Pioneers of Pagonia. And there's an "18+" section this time, too.
Once again, IAB is at gamescom as more than a purely physical booth: In collaboration with Steam, there will once again be a huge demo event where gamers can try out the games they're most interested in from the comfort of their own homes. And the curated livestream, in which some of the coolest titles will be presented, developers will have their say and the winners of the IAB Awards will be announced, will again be open to everyone.
