High contrast mode

High Contrast Mode changes the colors in the game world so that objects, enemies, players and NPCs stand out more clearly. This option can be activated in the "Accessibility" section of the "More options" menu or switched on and off using a keyboard shortcut. Players can customize the colors to suit their personal needs.

Object highlighting mode

The object highlighting mode has also been introduced. This highlights interactable objects, enemies, players and NPCs to make them easier to recognize. Players can decide whether these highlights should always be active, only in the vicinity or only on mouseover. Color and style changes are also possible here, including the choice of border or silhouette versions.

Double XP event

The popular Double XP event returns, giving players the opportunity to train their skills more efficiently. The event starts on Friday, May 17 and runs until Monday, May 27. During this time, players can enjoy 48 hours of double XP time, which can be paused at will.

In addition, some changes will be made to the Double XP store and tokens. New items such as Lunar Fury armor and weapons as well as training backpacks and power packs will be available. The Double XP Spirit has been removed and players will now receive their tokens directly during training.

Further updates and events

On May 14, maintenance work will be carried out from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. (German time), affecting all game worlds. In addition, the first of three new novels "RuneScape: The Gift of Guthix", which tells an epic story about the origin of magic, will be released on this day.

Players can also look forward to various treasure hunting events taking place in May, including the "Lamp Spirit Wishes" event from May 14-15 and the "Farsight" event from May 16-22.
