Blizzard Entertainment has decided to strengthen the tanks in Overwatch 2 in the middle of the season to further optimize the game balance. The role of tanks, which primarily resist enemy attacks and thus make it easier for their team members to eliminate opponents, will be significantly improved in the upcoming update.

The update will bring significant changes to the passive characteristics of tanks in particular. One such improvement is the 25% increase in damage reduction against headshots, giving tanks more survivability against precision attacks. In addition, recoil resistance increases from 30% to 50%, allowing tanks to hold their position on the front line more effectively.

Further adjustments concern the general damage reduction from armor, which is reset to five damage per projectile with a maximum protection of 50%. This change is aimed at improving tank survival against heroes with a high rate of fire, such as Reapers or Tracers.

The update also includes fine-tuning HP recovery for mobile tanks to speed up their return to combat. Now, HP recovery per second will not only include 10 HP, but an additional 5% of the tank's maximum hit points. Individual tanks will also receive specific improvements. For example, Junker Queen's ability, Command Call, will be adjusted so that it can be activated while using other abilities, increasing its versatility in combat. Wrecking Ball will see an increase to the damage of its wrecking ball and an increase to the movement lock provided by Collision Course.

Blizzard Entertainment will release more information and details on the adjustments on May 14, when the update officially launches.
