08/26/2023 - The winners of the gamescom awards 2023 have been announced. On Friday, August 25, the coveted gamescom awards were presented in a total of 15 categories at the gamescom studio powered by IGN. The gamescom Green Studio of the Year Award went to Xbox on Tuesday evening and was accepted by Head of Xbox Phil Spencer at the Opening Night Live.

The jury of the gamescom awards as well as the fans and visitors of gamescom agree: The big winner of gamescom 2023 is Nintendo. The jury awarded the opulent action adventure "The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom" for Best Audio and Best Gameplay as well as Most Epic and Best Nintendo Switch Game. The Most Wholesome Game "Pikmin 4" also came from Nintendo.

Bandai Namco Entertainment once again won several awards, with its presentation at the show again being chosen as Best of Showfloor after 2022. In addition, "Little Nightmares 3", developed by Supermassive Games and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment, received the award for Best Announcement of gamescom 2023. In the console battle between Best Microsoft Xbox Game and Best Sony PlayStation Game, the two fighting games "Mortal Kombat 1" and "Tekken 8" came to a draw. Best PC Game as well as Most Entertaining is "Payday 3" from Plaion. "Black Myth: Wukong" by Game Science Interactive Technology was honored for its Best Visuals. Thatgamecomany, whose game "Sky: Children of the Light" won Best Mobile Game and Game for Impact, also received two awards.

With this year's HEART OF GAMING Award, the gamescom awards jury honored the "GAME:IN" initiative, which campaigns for equal rights and against sexism in the German games industry.
