On September 23rd, RuneScape's second skill boss, the Gate of Elidinis, will be released. This new boss follows on from the recently released "Ode to the Exterminator" adventure and challenges players to use their skills to stop the corruption.

Challenge and mechanics

The Gate of Elidinis is not just an ordinary boss fight, but requires strategic skill and teamwork. Players can fight the boss alone or with up to nine other players in the arena. The battle requires the use of skills such as mysticism, crafting, mining and agility to clear the gate of corruption.

The main focus of the battle is on the statue of Elidinis, which has been corrupted by the corruption. During the battle, a health bar indicating the corruption fills up. As soon as this bar is full, the battle ends in defeat. Players must use their skills to stop the corruption by cleansing corrupted statue shards and maintaining barriers.

In addition, minions of the Exterminator regularly attack and reinforce the Corruption, forcing players to act quickly and efficiently. Icthlarin, the Keeper of the Dead, occasionally provides support by setting up pillars to help players move through the arena faster.

Rewards and special items

Players who successfully clear the Gate of Elidinis will be rewarded with various rewards. The main rewards include new Shieldhand items such as the Rune Aligner and the Memory Rod. These items provide useful effects, such as increasing rune crafting XP or automatically interacting with energy rifts.

In addition, there is a new god book, the Scripture of Elidinis, which provides passive effects when training non-combat skills. Players can also unlock a new combat prayer called "Darkened Soul", which increases their critical hit chance and grants healing effects on critical hits.

Collectors will also have the opportunity to unlock a special boss pet named Edie, as well as cosmetic rewards such as ornamental customizations for the sky area.

Shard Hunt Event

The release of the boss coincides with the Shard Hunt event. Until October 6, players can participate in this event and collect Moonstone Shards to unlock exclusive ornamental customizations and useful buffs. Rewards include cosmetic items such as the Divine Moon Lantern and special teleport and skill buffs.
