Update 19.2 in the starting blocks
09/02/2022 - KRAFTON, Inc. has announced a new collaboration with British supercar manufacturer McLaren Automotive. As part of this collaboration, PC players will be able to get exclusive McLaren GT vehicle skins and in-game items in PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS starting September 7. And that's not all. You can check out this post for details!
Below is a detailed overview of the McLaren collaboration and all the adjustments in Update 19.2. More information can be found here in the full patch notes. Players who want to try out the new content can do so on the PC test server starting today.
Driving in style with McLaren Automotive
For the duration of the collaboration, players will have the opportunity to receive a "McLaren GT Standard - Onyx Black" vehicle skin, costume, gear, emote and more via in-game McLaren loot chests. Players can also equip the Coupe RB vehicle with a McLaren skin. The special McLaren skins can be applied to the vehicle via the new interact UI by players pressing the secondary interact button in front of the vehicle. The skins do not affect the performance of the vehicle and its original specifications remain unchanged.
Vehicle Workshop
Players can also craft the "McLaren GT Standard - Silica White" and "McLaren GT Elite - Volcano Yellow" vehicle skins in the workshop by using McLaren tokens obtained from McLaren Loot Chests and the Craftsman Pass. McLaren Loot Chests and the Craftsman Pass will be sold in PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS during the cooperation periods for PC and console. In addition, the co-op will also feature exclusive customizable items from McLaren Automotive, allowing players to customize their own McLaren vehicles to their personal style. In the workshop, players will be able to craft exterior colors, brake calipers, rims and more to customize their own vehicles with these items. The customized cars can also be displayed in the lobby.
McLaren Container Car
Throughout the co-op period, a special container car will spawn at each starting point in Erangel, Miramar, Taego, Sanhok, Vikendi, and Deston. Players who have a McLaren vehicle skin will be able to interact with these container vehicles, and only the player and/or their teammates who open the container will be able to drive and ride the vehicle. The McLaren containers and vehicles will be removed once the game begins.
The not so friendly neighborhood food truck
A new vehicle has appeared in Deston that serves up some not-so-nice treats to players exploring Deston. Those who see the new food truck driving through Deston can expect a buffet of bullets flying out of the truck's open window! The food truck seats up to four passengers and features a large, vertical and open window on one side. The truck is only available in Deston.
New Feature:
Weather Change: Players entering Deston will be able to experience the new time-of-day weather feature, which will provide a more realistic light/weather condition over the course of a match. The feature will not support a full day-night cycle, but only a short progression cycle without drastically changing the position of the sun.
Updated animations
The update to update the animations, originally described in a developer letter, will be live with update 19.2! The goal of the update is to enhance the player experience by improving and refining the animation presentation while maintaining the existing timing and strategy.
New weapon attachment, Heavy Stock
The heavy stock is introduced in update 19.2 and provides lower recoil, but at the cost of slower ADS timing. Check out the patch notes for a full list of weapons compatible with the Heavy Stock.
