Hyperborea is a sworn community of people who survived the apocalypse in the harsh conditions of the North. They roam the icy wasteland, using the hulls of giant submarines and icebreakers as mobile headquarters, weapons caches, and fortresses. The Hyperboreans dismantle ships and melt down the metal to make their own low temperature optimized equipment. The crew and all important technical systems are usually housed in an armored capsule, and a multitude of radars and cameras compensate for the limited view from the cockpit.

Along with the update, Crossout also launches a new Battlepass season called "Aurora Borealis," which runs until June 7. The reward list includes new parts for the Hyperborean faction, including the epic track "Sleipnir", which reduces damage from fire and other threats, or the legendary Munin cabin, which has been optimized for controlling combat drones.

On the new PvP map "Vulcan", a former research station that survived a volcanic eruption, players can test their newly created vehicles in battles. Now it serves as a place for Hyperboreans to recycle old submarines and other equipment for their purposes. Players can choose a young scientist named Hertz as a passenger. He loves dangerous experiments with electricity, and his active and passive abilities are suitable for those who rely on energy weapons and protective fields.

Also, there is now a new "Game Center" section in the Crossout menu, where players can create their own modes with unique conditions. The system is extremely flexible: for example, you can specify the duration of the battle, the number of rounds, the battle time, the number of control points, weather conditions, certain damage types, the limitation of maps, the strength of the allowed armored vehicles and other details. In this way, the warriors of the wasteland can not only design armored vehicles, but also set the rules by which they fight.
