Gaijin Entertainment recently unveiled the major content update "Alpha Strike" for the popular online vehicle combat game War Thunder. This update marks a significant milestone in the game's development and brings a host of new military vehicles to the digital battlefield, including the European Alpha Jet fighter-bomber, the "Frankenstein" M60 120S tank, and the state-of-the-art Chinese ZBD-04A infantry fighting vehicle.
The Alpha Jet: A historic aircraft joins the fight
A highlight of the update is the Alpha Jet, a compact, two-seater fighter-bomber and training jet developed by European designers in the 1970s. It is still in active service today in a number of countries, including France and Nigeria. With its two SNECMA Turbomeca Larzac engines, it can reach speeds of over 1000 km/h, and thanks to an integrated ballistic computer, precise strikes with unguided rockets and bombs are possible.
New tanks and ground vehicles expand the strategy
In addition to the Alpha Jet, the update introduces the M60 120S tank, a combination of the Abrams turret and the M60 hull that combines state-of-the-art firepower with historic design. The ZBD-04A, an advanced Chinese BMP, offers additional tactical options thanks to its combat module with a 100 mm gun and a coaxial 30 mm automatic cannon.
Expanded game mechanics and tutorials
The Alpha Strike update not only offers new vehicles, but also revised mechanics, new visual effects and a range of improvements that enhance the gaming experience. These include an adapted fuel system for planes and helicopters, customizable messages for destroying vehicles, extended tutorials for air-to-air and air-to-ground ammunition, and a new sensor view for replays.
