Season 10 of Overwatch 2: Major updates and new maps announced

03/19/2024 - Overwatch 2 starts its tenth season with extensive new features. All heroes will be automatically unlocked for players, including the new character Venture. In addition, adjustments will be made to the preservation of mythical skins and new game cards will be introduced.
With the start of the tenth season of Overwatch 2, players are in for a major change: all heroes, both past and future, will be automatically unlocked. This measure removes the need to earn heroes via the Battle Pass and allows all players to fully enjoy the diverse hero selection from the start. However, newcomers will still need to complete the tutorial to learn the basics of the game and gain access to the heroes.
At the last BlizzCon, a glimpse of the 40th hero character, Venture, was revealed. This character is characterized by unique game mechanics and a thirst for adventure that sets him apart from other heroes. With Season 10, Venture will be available to all players at no additional cost.
Another innovation concerns Mythic skins. Overwatch 2 introduces the Mythic Shop, which allows players to purchase, upgrade and unlock Mythic skins more selectively. This gives players more control over the personalization of their heroes and makes it easier to access both older and current Mythic skins.
The tenth season also brings with it an increase in coins that can be earned through the Battle Pass and a flexibilization of the weekly challenges. This should make the gaming experience more individual and promote progress in the game.
Special attention is being paid to the constant improvement of the core gameplay. The developers aim to keep Overwatch 2 constantly exciting and fresh by adapting the meta-gameplay, introducing new rewards and taking community feedback seriously.
The tenth season will also be enriched by the introduction of new maps and the Clash game mode. The new maps "Hanaoka" and "Runasapi" promise intense gameplay moments and new tactical possibilities.
Finally, the development team emphasizes the importance of community feedback for the further development of Overwatch 2. The upcoming season and the planned updates show that the gaming experience is the main focus and will be continuously improved.
