Master skills in the new Hero Test mode
09/08/2023 - Hero Trial is a new single-player mode in Overwatch 2. The goal of Hero Trial is to complete a course full of training bots, obstacles, and jump platforms as quickly as possible. In this mode, you can fully test your skills in training courses for Mercy, Reinhardt, and Tracer, and (later in the season) for Sojourn and Winston.
New training bots
New courses need new training bots! While most of the training bots should look familiar to you, there are also some new bots that you will need to destroy, block, or avoid. Tankbots are sturdy machines with lots of hit points and strong barriers. Rocket bots shoot projectiles and cause a lot of instant damage. Sniper bots eliminate enemies from a distance. These training bots are strategically placed on the map. Find the most efficient way to take them out on your way to mastery. Occasionally, you'll have to eliminate all enemy bots in a certain area before you're allowed to move on. Sometimes, however, you'll also have to save allied bots from being scrapped. Don't worry - if a bot catches you, you can simply start the course all over again.
Increase points
Looking for the high score? There are two ways you can achieve an impressive score in the Hero Test: Collect emblems and reach the finish line quickly. Bonus points are awarded for emblems. Large emblems are worth extra, but are rare and hard to achieve compared to regular, small emblems. There are also bonuses for each course, depending on the hero. So plan ahead carefully to achieve the highest score possible!
Also, your completion time is important. Depending on how fast you reach the finish line, you'll receive either gold, silver or bronze multipliers. Your completion time combined with the emblems you collect will determine your rating in the form of stars and the total points you've earned in the course.
Become the master of heroes!
Each hero has three courses of increasing difficulty. Complete the "Recruit" course with at least 3 stars to gain access to the "Agent" course. To prove your talent in the "Expert" course, you need at least 4 stars on "Agent". In addition, completing all three courses will earn each Hero an exclusive player icon, an exclusive name card, and additional Battle Pass XP. You can see the highest scores for each region in the Top 500 leaderboards.
New timed challenges
We're kicking off the Hero Challenge with a limited-time event. Until September 25, completing challenges will unlock new rewards, including an exclusive weapon talisman, souvenir, spray, and title. Courses are available now for Tracer, Mercy and Reinhardt. Additional courses for Sojourn and Winston will be released within the coming weeks. Don't worry if your favorite hero isn't available yet - more courses for other heroes are planned for future seasons.
