"Invasion is a true milestone for Overwatch 2, with more new types of gameplay released simultaneously than ever before," said Jared Neuss, Executive Producer of Overwatch."From PvP ranked matches to dynamic heroes with distinct characters and co-op play with friend:ins to exploring the stories of a futuristic Earth, there truly is something for everyone in Overwatch 2: Invasion."

The update, available now, includes:

• Overwatch 2: Invasion - Story Missions: Players:inside join friends on a journey to Rio, Toronto and Gothenburg to experience the opening of Overwatch 2 's story firsthand. The story is told with brand new cutscenes and hundreds of new sayings.
• New support hero Illari: Illari is not only the 38th hero to join the large selection, but also the first Overwatch hero from Peru. With the power of the sun, she can heal or deal damage at will at medium and long range.
• New PvP Mode Flashpoint: Two new maps will be added to the PvP rotation with Flashpoint - Suravasa and New Junk City! These non-linear maps - the largest PvP maps in Overwatch 2 history - require capturing objective points. Here, collusion among team members and creative approaches to solving problems lead to victory.
• Underworld Co-op Mission: This limited-time event mission allows players to explore a previously unexplored area of King's Row and face new enemies from Null Sector. Weekly changing modifiers will keep players challenged all season long!
• New Hero Progression System: Players can gain experience with their favorite heroes to increase their player level and unlock unique name cards and more rewards. The new progression system will track each player's individual play style and progress with each of the 38 Heroes in a brand new interface.

A little later this season, Hero Testing will follow: Winston, Mercy, Reinhardt, Sojourn and Tracer will be able to hone their skills and move up the Hero Leaderboard. More heroes will follow in later updates!
