John Cena heralds new season
08/07/2023 - Over the past two weeks, various Twitch streamers of Overwatch 2 have been hacked by a mysterious hoodie-wearing individual named "Enigma." "Enigma," who addresses his viewers from a fortified bunker, warns in a consumed voice of the impending threat of the Null Sector invasion, which begins in Overwatch 2 on August 10.
Now, the identity of "Enigma" has finally been revealed on the channels of popular streamers like Shroud, Kyedae, and Scump: international superstar John Cena, who addressed streamers via a cinematic, demanding that they share information about the approaching threat, as well as a new trailer for Overwatch 2: Invasion, to as many viewers as possible.
"It was fun to see the Overwatch community speculate about the identity behind 'Enigma,'" John Cena said."Sometimes a face you can't see is best suited to ring the alarm bells about an approaching threat." The "Appeal" cinematic leads directly into the story missions of Overwatch 2: Invasion on August 10. It tells how former Overwatch agent Vivian "Sojourn" Chase has fared in Toronto since Winston sent out a call to the scattered Overwatch team and attacked Null Sector Paris.
Overwatch 2: Invasion will feature three new story missions in which players:in must fend off attacks from Null Sector in Rio, Toronto and Gothenburg. The upcoming season will also feature a new PvP game mode, a new support heroine, and much more!
In the period leading up to the release of Overwatch 2: Invasion on August 10 at 9 p.m., players and viewers can expect more news from John Cena as "Enigma," including information on how to actively participate in the event.
