Festivities in the winter wonderland
12/15/2022 - Now through January 5, experience special game modes in the Arcade such as Frost Dew Elimination, Yeti Hunt, and Snowball Deathmatch. In addition to these limited-time modes, you can also complete winter challenges to earn weapon talismans, player icons, sprays, and more, including the epic Frost Queen skin for Brigitte.
For this year's Winter Wonderland, Blizzard has a few ice-cold game modes in the Arcade! First up is Mei's Snowball Battle, where instead of shooting a frost ray or ice projectiles, Mei can instantly take out her opponents with snowballs in a 6v6 Elimination or 8-player FFA Deathmatch.
Next is Mei's Yeti Hunt, a unique 5v1 boss fight-style brawl. A yeti steals food from the local village, and it's up to a team of five Mei games to lay traps and put the rampaging yeti on ice. But be careful: if he steals too much meat, he goes berserk and can effortlessly take out the entire enemy team. So split up and lay your traps to catch the yeti!
Last but not least, Frost Dew Elimination is the Overwatch 2 version of Freeze Hunt. Here you have to freeze all enemies and eliminate them that way. At the same time, you can bring your own team members back into the game by unfreezing them. In this frantic elimination game mode, a match isn't over until you've frozen the blood in the veins of all your opponents.
From December 25 to January 4, you can spread holiday cheer by tuning into Overwatch 2 channels with Twitch Drops enabled to earn colorful extras for D.Va!
If you watch for 2 hours, you'll receive the Festive victory pose for D.Va, and after another 4 hours, you'll get the legendary "Sled" skin for D.Va! If you haven't set up Twitch Drop for your Battle.net account yet, check out our blog's FAQ on Twitch Drops in Season 2 for all the info you need.
From the Overwatch team to you
As we prepare for the festivities, the team has a little gift for you. If you log into Overwatch 2 between December 20 and January 4, you'll receive the Festive Wreath weapon talisman and this year's Festive Hat Player Icon 2023.
