HAWKED moves into closed alpha on Thursday
11/22/2022 - MY GAMES and developer Upwake.me have announced HAWKED, a brand new PvPvE extraction shooter. The new title will be available for consoles and PC. For PC players, a closed alpha will begin on Steam on November 24, where they can get a first look at the Hunt mode, playable either solo or in groups of three.
HAWKED is an online shooter in which teams or single players compete to collect and recover treasures on a remote island. Players must explore the mysterious island, compete against each other and fight greedy dinosaurs called Disciples in a raid for treasures and mystical artifacts. But it's not just the monsters they have to watch out for, other players are after their treasure too. Players must also contend with puzzles and traps, dangerous environments, and a variety of other challenges that stand in their way.
In the closed alpha phase, the main game mode will be "Hunt," in which players will scour the island for artifacts. However, the artifacts are not just for collecting points, but are usable items that provide advantages in the game and that players can keep for future rounds once they are found. During the game, there are several ways to obtain artifacts. They can be captured from defeated players, but also through PvE encounters such as a Glyph encounter. In these encounters, a player can secure four glyphs, which can be used to open a vault that contains multiple artifacts. The player with the most artifacts will be the big winner, but it is the developers' intention that even winning just one artifact will be rewarding enough that each player will feel like they can accomplish something meaningful in each game.
HAWKED's closed alpha test will be playable on Steam from November 24 to November 28. Alpha players will test the game's hunting mode. Developers and publishers are eager to gather feedback during this formative stage of the game. The testers' feedback is important for future development and refining the vision of creating an intense extraction shooter.
