Launch of the cross-platform open beta for the Playstation

08/29/2023 - Publisher and developer MY.GAMES today announces the first cross-play open beta of HAWKED, which follows the successful PC open beta. From August 31st to September 4th, HAWKED will be playable on PlayStation 4 and 5 as well as on PC via Steam and the MGlauncher.
The cross-play open beta marks the next step in HAWKED's development towards full release. Similar to the previous open beta, all players can participate in the free Renegade Pass, which unlocks exclusive cosmetics for the game at launch. Please note that the game in its current form does not offer cross-platform progress. Progress from the previous beta has not been reset and for this beta there is a progress boost for the Renegade Pass, giving all players an additional chance to secure the exclusive items.
Andy Duthie, Executive Producer of HAWKED, had the following to say about the progress of the game so far:
The feedback from the first OBT has been incredibly helpful to us and is helping us shape the product. We are also very excited to see how PlayStation players will like the game, and incorporating player feedback into HAWKED is an important part of our development process.
HAWKED is an extraction shooter in which teams of three players compete to collect and recover artifacts on a remote island called X-Isle. Players (also called renegades) compete against each other to secure and recover artifacts that can only be obtained by fighting monsters, other players, solving puzzles and avoiding traps.
The first team to succeed in retrieving artifacts from the island wins the round. To ensure that each game is rewarding, players can also recover minor treasures and leave the island (dead or alive) with useful currency to spend on improving their character.
Customize Renegades
HAWKED offers extensive character customization. With a huge selection of clothing, hairstyles and colors, players can visually customize their characters and combine artifacts, equipment and boosters to create their ultimate treasure hunter and tailor their gameplay to their preferred style.
Upgrade
Artifacts can be equipped as soon as they are found on the island. They offer passive bonuses, such as the ability to turn into a bush when you duck, or a sixth sense for nearby enemies. HAWKED currently has 21 types of artifacts. Players can combine three of them at a time, and all artifacts can be found and upgraded at different rarity levels.
Players can use these artifacts along with 14 types of equipment such as boomerangs, deployable cover, a recon hawk, and more, allowing for a wide range of customization options and play styles. Equipment and artifacts are upgraded with currency obtained by selling and/or dismantling treasure on the Riftwake, the game's common area. In HAWKED, players can bring their ideal Renegade to the island - from a dastardly assassin to a team-oriented support character.
A dynamic island
Players must explore X-Isle, a recently discovered treasure trove full of loot. However, the nefarious, scaly Disciples have also laid claim to the island and won't give up their conquest easily. X-Isle is a huge, dynamic map that pits players against each other on different parts of the island each game session. Treasures and artifacts are hidden in hidden temples and ruins.
Players must also use their wits by solving puzzles to open doors and uncover important treasure chambers. In the battles there are dynamic events, such as a giant Disciple that carries a "howdah" filled with treasures on his back. This boss must be defeated to secure its artifacts. Over time, X-Isle will evolve through updates, timed events and seasonal launches.
More news about the full launch of HAWKED will be announced in the near future. The latest news and updates will be posted on the game's official website and social networks.
