Start of Early Access announced
11/21/2023 - MYGAMES announced today that HAWKED will enter Early Access after a successful PC and Cross-Play Open Beta. On November 30th, HAWKED will be playable on PC via the MYGAMES Launcher and Steam, with a console version planned for early 2024.
Players who want to get in on the extraction fun can already sign up for the 'Renegade Gathering', which rewards players with increasingly higher rewards the more people sign up. Early Access marks another phase in the release of the ambitious third-person extraction shooter, which is on its way to full release.
Andy Duthie, Executive Producer of HAWKED, explains the decision for Early Access as follows:
"With HAWKED, we want to have an open and interactive development process that puts community feedback front and center. After the positive response and excellent results from our Open Beta, we feel that Early Access is an important stage on our road to release. We want to continue working towards making HAWKED the most fun and accessible extraction shooter on the market as we move towards full release, and we're delighted that so many players are part of this journey."
As a further incentive to join Early Access, MYGAMES has launched the 'Renegade Rally' campaign. Players who sign up during the rally will receive rewards and have the chance to win special prizes, including a lifetime supply of premium currency. The more people who sign up, the better the rewards and prizes will be for the entire group. Players may be renegades, but sticking together certainly has its benefits. More information on the Renegade Rally can be found on the website, but everyone who joins the Renegade Rally will receive a free 7-day GRAIL Premium account status in addition to the other rewards unlocked during the campaign.
Customize your Renegade
HAWKED offers extensive character customization. With a huge selection of clothing, hairstyles and colors, players can visually customize their characters and combine artifacts, equipment and boosters to create their ultimate treasure hunter and tailor their gameplay to their preferred style.
Artifacts can be equipped as soon as they are found on the island. They offer passive bonuses, such as the ability to turn into a bush when ducking or having a sixth sense for nearby enemies. HAWKED currently has 18 types of artifacts. Players can combine three of them at a time, and all artifacts can be found and upgraded at different rarity levels.
Players can use these artifacts along with 16 types of equipment such as boomerangs, deployable covers, a recon falcon and more, providing a wide range of customization options and play styles. Equipment and artifacts are upgraded with currency obtained by selling and/or dismantling treasure on the Riftwake, the game's social space. In HAWKED, players can bring their ideal Renegade to the island, from dastardly assassin to team-oriented support.
An evolving island
Players must explore X Island, a recently discovered treasure trove full of loot. However, the nefarious, scaly Disciples have also laid claim to the island and will not give up easily. X-Isle is a huge, dynamic map where players must compete against each other on different parts of the island in each game session. Treasures and artifacts are hidden everywhere in hidden temples and ruins.
Players will also have to put their ingenuity to the test by solving puzzles to open doors and unlock important treasure chambers. There will be dynamic events in the matches, such as a huge Disciples caravan carrying a howdah filled with treasures on its back. This boss must be defeated to secure its artifacts. Over time, X-Isle will evolve through updates, limited-time events and seasonal launches.
