Gamescom again records increase in early booking phase

03/15/2023 - With the end of the early booking phase, the organizers of gamescom are looking forward to the end of August with anticipation. Not only is the number of companies already registered higher than at the same time last year, but also the large number of international exhibitors means that a great gamescom 2023 can already be expected.
Although the early booking phase in 2022 was two months later than this year, gamescom 2023 has already recorded an increase of 10 percent in the number of companies registered by the deadline. These come from 39 countries, numerous country pavilions are also already confirmed. Among others, these include: Australia, gamescom partner country Brazil, Belgium, China, France, Great Britain, Italy, Canada, Malta, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Serbia, Spain, South Korea and the USA.
The early booking phase for devcom ended at the same time as gamescom. Already two months ahead of its 2022 launch, gamescom's official developer conference is looking forward to hundreds of registered participants and a full event agenda.
Oliver Frese, Managing Director and COO of Koelnmesse: "Last year, together with all partners and exhibitors, we pulled off a really strong, hybrid comeback of gamescom. The fact that this achievement has resonated within the industry and beyond is demonstrated by the already strong interest during the early booking period. Without going into details, I promise that the community can look forward to one or the other big company, which still suspended last year. At the same time, we already have well-known market leaders from the new exhibitor segments announced for 2023 - such as streaming or table top games - on board. So die-hard gamescom fans as well as interested parties from linked communities can equally look forward to gamescom 2023."
Felix Falk, Managing Director of game - Association of the German Games Industry: "As a games industry, we are already looking forward to our gamescom again together with the community. After two changeable pandemic years, gamescom was even able to emerge stronger thanks to the great commitment on all sides. Now the very good result after the Early Bird phase also shows that uncertainties and limited plannability no longer stand in the way. This, together with exciting new ideas from exhibitors and partners, already makes us look forward to a great gamescom 2023."
