Application phase for the gamescom award 2022 started

07/14/2022 - The application phase for the gamescom award 2022 has started: Until July 27, all exhibitors in the entertainment area of gamescom 2022 can submit their games and hardware products. The gamescom award will be presented in a total of 20 categories.

The first winners will already be announced on August 23, 2022 at the big opening show gamescom: Opening Night Live. All other winners of the gamescom awards 2022 will be presented during the award show of the gamescom studio. In cooperation with "Playing for the Planet," an initiative supported by the United Nations Environment Programme, the newly created "gamescom goes green award" will be presented for the first time. This award honors concepts and measures for more sustainability of the exhibitors, especially with regard to their gamescom presence. All partners with stands in the business or entertainment area can apply for the award in this category free of charge. Criteria can be found in the gamescom award regulations. In this case, the selection is made by the Playing for the Planet team.

The gamescom award jury, consisting of experienced games journalists and creators, will view and evaluate the submitted gameplay footage before it is launched. The gamescom fans will vote for their respective favorites in the categories "Best Booth" and "Best Trailer/ Announcement" during the Consumer Awards. For a successful submission, the gamescom award submission form must be completed. The exact specifications for the design of the video can be found in the regulations on the gamescom award website.
