In education, industry, healthcare or social coexistence - all economic and cultural areas benefit from games and games technologies. The framework conditions that policymakers must create in order to fully exploit the potential of games are discussed every year at the Debatt(l)e Royale at the gamescom congress. The debate focuses on topics such as digital education, coexistence online, the potential of digital games, and the network infrastructure in Germany.

Once again, the audience will be given a special hearing: they can submit their questions in advance via social media and comment live on the talk as well as ask questions. The discussion round will be broadcast on gamescom-congress.de from 10:15 a.m. on August 25, 2022. People can join in the discussion online under #DebattleRoyale and #gcc22.

The gamescom congress will take place for the 14th time in 2022 as part of gamescom, the world's largest event for computer and video games and Europe's leading business platform for the games industry. After a two-year corona break, the congress returns to Cologne with keynotes, panels and workshops. The gamescom congress is organized by Koelnmesse GmbH and game - Association of the German Games Industry. The conference is sponsored by the state of North Rhine-Westphalia.
