Festive winter updates for World of Warships: New ships and events
11/28/2024 - The new winter update for World of Warships brings festive cheer to the game. Players can look forward to new ships, events, rewards and a variety of Christmas activities.
With the new update of World of Warships, the Christmas season takes center stage. Wargaming, developer of the popular multiplayer game, is releasing a variety of content that will provide festive entertainment. Players can unlock numerous rewards, including ships, camouflage, containers and premium game time.
New ships and historical highlights
The update brings two new ships to the game: the American submarine USS Archerfish and the Japanese aircraft carrier Shinano. Both are steeped in history, as the Archerfish sank the largest aircraft carrier ever built during the Second World War. In the game, the Archerfish offers innovative features such as short-range guidance pedals and enhanced sonar, while the Shinano boasts a unique combination of stealth and aerial combat capabilities.
Christmas events and rewards
The Arctic Wonders event invites players to explore a new harbor called Nordlyshavn and decorate a magnificent Christmas tree. Collecting ornaments can unlock rewards such as containers, premium days and a permanent New Year's scamouflage. In addition, the in-game Advent calendar returns, promising daily gifts in December.
Another highlight is the "Expedition to the North Pole", which continues the story of the characters Li Wei and Olaf Lundgren. Rewards include the American level VIII battleship North Carolina and the German level X cruiser Schlieffen.
Special missions and seasonal rewards
From December 1 to January 9, players who complete special missions will receive so-called Festive Certificates. These can be exchanged for special containers such as "Santa's Gift" or "Santa's Mega Gift", which offer the chance to win one of 145 ships. Alternatively, the certificates can also be used for in-game currency.
Additional content and new functions
In addition to the festive highlights, the update introduces new chapters to the Event Pass that delve deeper into the stories of Li Wei and Olaf Lundgren. In addition, the Hamburg shipyards are starting construction of the pan-European battleship Niord and the destroyer Kalmar. Other new features include clan patrols, asymmetric battles and new seasons for clan battles and skirmishes.
