Chinese Lunar Year brings new content for World of Warships

01/19/2023 - Wargaming is kicking off the New Year with Update 12.0 with lots of new content. To celebrate the Lunar New Year, a festive "Sa Zhenbing Era" collection will be added to the game. The January update also adds US battleships to Early Access and a temporary mode returns to the game.
A special Pan-Asian captain
The update begins with a series of in-game celebrations to mark the Lunar New Year. To match this, there is a new collection called "Sa Zhenbing's Era", which describes the work of the legendary Chinese admiral. Players can find items from the collection in specific containers to earn various rewards, from premium game time to the captain himself.
The boxes to complete the collection can be acquired in various ways: through missions, daily random packs, and by buying them in the armory or premium store. To properly celebrate the Year of the Rabbit, the permanent camouflages for Dunkerque, Prince Eugene, Kaga and Warspite have been updated.
US Hybrid Battleships in Early Access
Three new Level VIII-X battleships are entering Early Access: these US hybrid battleships with long-range main battery artillery and guided bomber squadrons can be purchased in random packages and at the end of a successive series of packages, and are also awaiting completion of the Premium Battle Pass.
Three weeks after launch, a thematic sector will be accessible in the Arsenal with special missions. Upon completion of these missions, players will be rewarded with American tokens that can be exchanged for camouflage, flags, packages, credits, XP and more! At the end of these missions, there is a special reward: the Statue of Liberty Commander with her own unique voice acting.
Airship Escort
An improved version of the Airship Derby temporary battle type from Update 0.11.1, Airship Escort allows players to compete against each other in a 12-on-12 format, but is open to ships of all types from Levels VIII-X. In this mode, each team follows an indestructible airship along a set route with the goal of either reaching the end of the route with the airship faster than the opposing team or destroying all of the opposing team's ships along the way. Battles are fought on a variety of maps, including North, Trident, Shard, Estuary and Ice Islands, to test the captains' skills and earn a number of special achievements and community tokens in the game.
Japanese cruisers and scored battles.
At the conclusion of the first update in 2023, Japanese cruisers will be added to the tech tree, offering good stealth and high-damage torpedoes. There will also be another season of ranked battles in World of Warships, where battleships, destroyers, cruisers and aircraft carriers can compete against each other in a six vs. six format.
