Seven years on the seven seas: Wargaming celebrates anniversary
09/08/2022 - Wargaming, publisher and developer of the free multiplayer naval game World of Warships, is celebrating the title's seventh anniversary this September. For this occasion, Wargaming is releasing a series of in-game activities, which we would like to introduce to you in this article.
The update kicks off with a series of in-game festivities celebrating the seventh anniversary of World of Warships. Players who use level V and higher ships will receive a number of festive rewards, including "Special Bonuses", "Rare Bonuses" and "Super Containers" boxes, depending on the ship they use. In seven years, many players now have hundreds of ships in port, for which they can collect different rewards for several of their ships in a battle. World of Warships will also welcome a new "Seven Seas" collection as part of the festive season, taking players through the history of 16 of the game's famous ports.
Capping off the birthday celebrations will be the relaxing "Fleet Assault" mini-game in the Armory, inspired by a classic ship sinking. Players can compete against an AI opponent in a strategy-based game to win celebration tokens.
Updated companies across the board
The companies have undergone major changes, with more ships available for participation. The rewards that you get in the companies have also changed. It is now possible to take home the new rewards more than once by completing special daily and weekly missions. Along with these changes, three companies return: "The Ultimate Frontier", "Hermes" and the night company "Cherry Blossom" are back in 0.11.8.
British battleships find their way into the research tree
Eight British battleships introduced in the last two updates have left Early Access and can now be researched in the Tech Tree. Among them are the iconic Renown and Indefatigable. These fast ships feature precision cannons and torpedoes on board, as well as various consumables for all Tier V-X ships, including "Engine Boost," "Defensive Fla Fire," and "Repair Crew."
Armory and shipyard
The Spanish Tier X fast destroyer Álvaro de Bazán, with eight 135mm main battery guns and two four-tube torpedo tubes, also comes to the armory with its alternate firing mode.
Update 0.11.8 continues the construction of the American cruiser Puerto Rico, which will be available to players until the start of update 0.11.10. The building process also rewards players who reach level 25 out of 40 with the Canadian destroyer Huron.
