24 hour charity livestream announced
12/07/2021 - Wargaming, the developer and publisher of the popular free-to-play naval battle games, World of Warships (PC) and World of Warships: Legends (console), today announced its upcoming charity stream, featuring 24 hours of games, special guests, sweepstakes and charity challenges.
To further spread the spirit of giving, Wargaming will offer both PC and console players charity bundles for purchase, with all proceeds going to the global humanitarian organization Save the Children. Additionally, at the end of the stream, Wargaming will match the funds raised by viewers with a donation of its own.
On December 10, starting at 6:00 p.m., players can participate in the live stream, donate to the cause and win in-game rewards. All proceeds from the livestream will go to Save the Children, an organization that works every day in more than 100 countries to give children a healthy start in life, the opportunity to learn and protect them from harm. This is part of an ongoing partnership with the charity that has seen the wargaming community raise more than $88,000 over the past few years.
During the stream, viewers will be able to participate in charity auctions featuring rare ships and unique merchandise, interactive games and trivia, as well as watch in-game battles with special guests and World of Warships staff who will join viewers in raising money for the cause.
"Save the Children is excited to partner again with Wargaming and its dedicated community, which has already been very supportive of our efforts," said Ettore Rossetti, Lead Advisor, Technology/Marketing/Innovation Partnerships for Save the Children.
The event also marks the launch of the Save the Children charity bundle in the World of Warships premium store. Containers include a unique patch and flag, as well as a whole host of camouflages that players can use to outfit their ships for the winter. Console players will receive their own charity bundle in World of Warships: Legends. 100 of the proceeds from these limited-time bundles will be donated to Save the Children and matched by World of Warships.
The stream will take place on the World of Warships Twich channel.
