Expanded arsenal and renewed Prospect Station
02/23/2023 - The German extraction shooter The Cycle: Frontier will enter its third season on March 29 and will receive some additional gameplay mechanics in this context. As YAGER announced today, the Berlin-based developer is revamping the title's weapon system, which now offers players a diverse arsenal in two different rarity grades.
The Cycle: Frontier will revise and expand the existing weapon system with Season 3. The goal is to give players an even more diverse, accurate, and valuable choice of weapons and to fill gaps in the current arsenal. For this reason, modified and rare MK II weapons will be brought into the game, which cannot be crafted or purchased and can only be found on Fortuna III. They are more penetrative than their ordinary counterparts and offer more equipment options. Weapons that already have high penetrating power will be "MK I" level in the future.
One of the biggest and most important issues for YAGER is the fight against cheaters and player protection. Therefore, The Cycle: Frontier introduces a compensation system that also intervenes retroactively when players have been killed by banned cheaters. As soon as someone is banned for cheating, the system checks every kill and automatically compensates the victims. This measure complements the already very successful "Shielded Matchmaking" in the fight against cheaters, which transfers trusted accounts of players to a protected matchmaking.
With the start of Season 3, the revamped Prospect Station will also be launched. The station is the central location for all extractors to acquire new items, interact with factions, and relax in their private quarters. The atmosphere and appearance of Prospect Station, which was previously bright and safe, is now darker, dirtier and more dangerous, but not hostile. Prospect Station is meant to convey a sense of shared survival: A place where you can do everything you can to succeed and make the most of your new life.
