The Borg King challenge: New update in Star Trek Online

01/09/2024 - Star Trek Online is about to enter an exciting new chapter. On January 23, 2024, the 31st season "Both Worlds" will be released for PC. This update continues the story with new challenges and also marks the 14th anniversary of the game. It promises to take fans and players on a new adventure that is deeply embedded in the Star Trek universe.

On January 23, 2024, Star Trek Online players can expect an exciting new update: "Both Worlds", the 31st season of the popular MMORPG, will be released for PC and will later be available for PlayStation and Xbox on March 12, 2024. Developed by Cryptic Studios and published by Gearbox Publishing, this update continues the story of the last season and brings new challenges for players.

The threat of the Borg King

At the center of the update is the Borg King, the architect behind a threat to the Star Trek Online multiverse. Players must infiltrate the heart of the Mirror Universe Borg Unicomplex and defeat the Borg King to save the multiverse. The story picks up where previous events left off, including the misunderstanding with the Tholians and the rupture of the reality vortex.

Meeting with Star Trek icons

A special attraction of the update are guest appearances by well-known Star Trek characters. Players will meet Captain Ezri Dax, voiced by Nicole de Boer from "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine", Captain Harry Kim, voiced by Garret Wang from "Star Trek: Voyager", and Admiral Kuumaarke, voiced by Kipleigh Brown from "Star Trek: Enterprise". These encounters give the game additional authenticity and depth.

New features and events

"Both Worlds" comes with several new features. These include a new episode called "Abyss of the Scorpion", in which players explore a new reality vortex in liquid space. There is also a new Task Force "Battle of Wolf 359", an event called "King and Collective" and the "Random Elite Task Forces" feature, which offers additional rewards.

Celebrating the 14th anniversary

To celebrate the 14th anniversary of Star Trek Online, an anniversary event will return. More details will be announced in a dev blog in the coming weeks.

An MMO for all Star Trek fans

Star Trek Online offers players an immersive experience in the Star Trek universe. Players can act as the captain of a Federation ship, Klingon warlord, commander of the Romulan Republic or Jem'Hadar for the Dominion. They can visit famous locations, meet new alien species and take part in space battles with other players.

With "Both Worlds", Star Trek Online expands its fascinating world and invites players to take part in a new chapter in this ongoing space adventure.
