Fifth anniversary with impressive figures
03/21/2023 - PUBG MOBILE is celebrating its fifth anniversary this month. The game was released in March 2018 and has since built a global community with over one billion downloads. To celebrate this milestone, PUBG MOBILE is providing a glimpse into the incredible community achievements of the past five years.
It's no surprise that Erangel is the most played map in PUBG MOBILE, with 108.5 billion total players - 14 times more than the entire world population. The M416 has proven to be the most popular weapon among players, with 311 trillion uses resulting in 118.6 billion eliminated, with the top prop being the Green Parachute Trail, which was used 780 million times while skydiving.
18.3 billion times the buggy was used in PUBG MOBILE, though players seem to prefer motorcycles for longer distances. Collectively, players have covered 3.42 trillion kilometers on these two tires, circling the globe an astounding 85.72 million times.
Players' survival instincts have proven at least as impressive. Over the past five years, PUBG MOBILE has seen 1.24 billion eliminations out of a total of 538.5 billion player eliminations.
PUBG MOBILE has collaborated with some world-renowned icons in this half decade, from one of the biggest acts in K-Pop to renowned footballers, from superheroes to giants of the automotive industry. Many more collaborations will appear in the future. With their collaborations, PUBG MOBILE has the incentive to make the game more exciting for everyone. Some partnerships have released limited edition new vehicles, and others have played full virtual concerts.
"To all the millions of players who have played PUBG MOBILE day after day - thank you for an incredible five years! The support we have received from this community continues to amaze us and we hope you enjoy the 5th anniversary celebrations! We look forward to continuing to bring you the best Battle Royale experience on mobile!" said Vincent Wang, Head of PUBG MOBILE Publishing, Tencent Games.
As part of its 5th anniversary, PUBG MOBILE today released the version 2.5 update, revealing the new Creative Mode, which is still in beta. World of Wonder allows players to create their own maps and modes. The update also includes Imagiversary, a birthday makeover on multiple maps with two new Imagination Plazas and Districts to pick up rewards and colorful new items to add to the party.
PUBG MOBILE is looking forward to the future of the game with the new World of Wonder mode and new exciting partnerships to keep players entertained on the battlefield - including the upcoming collaboration with the iconic anime series Dragon Ball due out later this year.
