New information about the update to version 2.0
04/25/2022 - PUBG MOBILE, one of the world`s most popular mobile games, today revealed a series of exciting new updates that players can look forward to with the highly anticipated Update 2.0, coming next month.
In a video released today as part of the company`s 4th anniversary Step 4ward celebration, PUBG MOBILE announced that after nearly two years of testing, the newly improved map Livik will officially launch with the Version 2.0 update. New partnerships with BLACKPINK, EVANGELION and The Great British Teddy Bear Company will also be introduced with the update, alongside gameplay improvements, Ban Pan 2.0 and more!
The official version of the newly improved Livik map, PUBG MOBILE`s exclusive fast-paced 2x2 map, will launch with several updated themed areas - each with its own architecture and unique play styles.
The revamped areas include:
- Midtstein - A complex urban environment with a mix of buildings, streets and alleys perfect for focused, high-octane melee combat.
- Blomster - Wide streets divide Blomster into multiple sections with plenty of vantage points to explore and take advantage of. A newly built soccer field offers players a great place for recreational activities.
- Logistics Center - The original lumbar yard has been upgraded to a new logistics center. This spacious area is tightly packed and provides plenty of cover. Players who are able to move quickly around tight corners will dominate this area.
- Iceborg - The new Iceborg rises from a snow-covered plain. A tall church stands solemnly amid loosely strung buildings for the ultimate game of hide-and-seek. On the official map, PUBG MOBILE will also offer different ways to traverse Livik with the introduction of a new all-terrain four-seater that handles as well over mountains as it does through narrow city streets and alleys. Vehicle ramps will also be added, allowing players seeking thrills to take their vehicles to areas inaccessible on foot for exclusive activity rewards. Ziplines will also provide fun and fast travel across the map.
In the official release, XT firearms have been added to the supply stores in Livik. Some firearms can be upgraded to their XT variant by purchasing the XT upgrade crate at the supply store.
Several new map features in Livik have been designed to enhance gameplay and provide players with additional challenges. After entering a map, an expanded supply zone randomly appears near the flight path. These zones are not only rich in supplies, but also attract other players, leading to intense high-risk, high-reward skirmishes. Players can go treasure hunting with a new in-game treasure map that allows them to mark crates on the mini-map. For sharp-eyed players who need a little breather, there are hidden berries on the official map that restore energy.
In addition, the upcoming 2.0 update in May will introduce a new mechanism for the Erangel and Miramar maps that will be used in both ranked and non-ranked modes. When players are out of the play zone, they can use the emergency shot in an open area. The emergency shot creates a hot air balloon that summons a rescue plane to take the player to the center of the game zone. However, players can still take damage from the Blue Zone while in the air.
The new Update 2.0 expands on Update 1.9, which added classic Battle Royale maps to the Arena, and also introduces an Arena version of the Sanhok map. The familiar Recall Towers will also return to the Erangel and Livik maps in Ranked Mode as a limited-time event.
In addition to the new map mechanics, PUBG MOBILE today also revealed many control improvements, including a new haptic feedback feature that will be used on weapons, vehicles, character statuses, sound visuals and more to give players a more immersive gaming experience.
With the announcement of Ban Pan Security System 2.0, PUBG MOBILE also revealed a major upgrade to its anti-cheating software. The new system will provide all PUBG MOBILE players with better, smarter and faster anti-cheat measures on three major fronts: new anti-cheat features, game ratings and player reports. Equipped with the state-of-the-art technological Fog of War anti-cheat system, the game view of players can be intelligently identified. Taking into account the buildings and terrain on the map, the server only sends data from the player`s field of view to his local device, while information outside the player`s field of view is not synchronized locally.
The new Eagle system gives authority to senior investigators and enables real-time monitoring for more accurate assessments of cheats during the game. Ban Pan 2.0`s AI learning modules have also been upgraded to detect a wide range of suspicious player behavior and apply appropriate penalties.
