Baking requires ingredients, and they can be collected by completing Mrs. Appleton's tasks. However, they can also be hidden in daily chests or in unexpected places all over the city. Once enough ingredients have been collected, the baking can begin.

By completing recipes and making a wonderfully unique pastry, players earn rewards and have the chance to win one of the daily prizes, though this year's daily prize works a little differently in the Great Fall Baking Contest. Players can choose whether they'd rather exchange their prize for another reward, but it can only be exchanged once per day, so the decision must be well weighed!

The goal of the event is to fill the baking competition table with sumptuous treats, with some baked goods taking up more space than others. Dishes are awarded with stars, from one star for a simple baked good, to three stars for the more complex recipes. Players can decide how to fill their tables with snacks, pies, cakes and other delicacies, adding a flavor of strategy to this delicious event.

The big grand prize this year is the Sunflower Oil Press building, which can be upgraded by nine levels. It provides instant satisfaction, population, and coins, but when improved, it also provides supplies, forge points, goods, and three random units.
