Rogue Frontier brings new features to smuggler network &
Yesterday - Rogue Frontier, the latest update for Albion Online, will be released on February 3. It expands the Outlands with a smuggler network, new gameplay elements for solo players and smaller groups as well as additional challenges. The update also brings new weapons, an expanded banking system and kill trophies for PvP achievements.
The smuggler network: alternative trade routes
A central element of the update is the smuggler network, a system of connected marketplaces in the Outlands. Players can buy and sell goods here independently of the official trading centers of the Royal Continent. However, the prices depend on the transportation distance, resulting in new strategic decisions: Is it cheaper to trade locally, or is it worth traveling to a more distant smuggler's den?
New activities with the smuggler faction
Players can join the smuggler faction and increase their reputation through various missions. These include:
- Smugglers' Chests: retrieve stolen goods from raids.
- Captured smugglers: Freeing smugglers from the captivity of the Royal Guards.
- Smuggler coins: This hidden currency allows you to level up in the faction and earn special rewards.
Rewards for loyal smugglers
Players who join the smugglers can earn exclusive rewards:
- Smuggler Prestige Set: A unique clothing set.
- Smuggler Cloak: Reduces the cooldown time for potions.
- Smuggler Ring & Avatar: Status symbols within the faction.
New PvP kill trophies
The update introduces kill trophies that drop randomly when defeating enemies. The more valuable the target, the higher the chance of a trophy. These can be awarded in the Open World or on player islands.
Three new crystal weapons
Rogue Frontier also introduces three new crystal weapons:
- Rotcaller Staff (Cursed Staffs): Creates a cursed figure with deadly mist.
- Skywalker Bow (Bows): Allows you to shoot from the air.
- Force Pulse Bracers (War Gauntlets): Triggers destructive energy pulses.
Further improvements
In addition, the update brings a new bank overview that allows you to view all bank boxes in one place. There is also a new category in the Albion Journal that challenges players to hunt and catalog creatures. Improvements to combat balancing and new dynamic resource sources round off the update.
