Letsplay4Charity celebrates first anniversary with two charity streams

06/20/2022 - Letsplay4Charity e. V. was registered as a non-profit association in April 2021 and has been able to collect over 40,000 euros in donations for charitable purposes since its inception. The entire association would like to thank the support of the community, because without the help of the many voluntary supporters and partners, this success would not have been possible.
Last year, Letsplay4Charity e. V. was rewarded with the "Heart of Gaming" award by a 30-member gamescom Award jury for its charity stream in support of the flood victims in Germany. In February of this year, EarlyGame also honored the association for this stream as "Social Personality of the Year" at its Game Awards for the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation.
With these awards as a motivational boost, bigger live events are on the agenda again for this year. On &June 23-24, the club will be an official charity partner at the Indie Game Fest in Cologne's Wasserturm. Only a little later - in July - everything revolves around the good cause for the association, which has since relocated to Berlin, as the official charity partner for Level Up - The Gaming Festival, which will take place on July 1 and 2 at the Messezentrum Salzburg. In this regard, the Head of Exhibitions of the Messezentrum Salzburg Christian Wenniger emphasizes: "Already last year, the important charitable work of Letsplay4Charity e.V. caught our eye and it was immediately clear to us that we would like to integrate the experienced troupe into our event concept along the lines of the previous charity streams. I am very pleased to be able to hold the first Austrian Charity Stream of Messe Salzburg as part of Level Up for the benefit of many suffering fellow human beings with our Berlin friends and to lay the foundation for many years together in which we can do good. I am all the more pleased that we were able to include the well-known Wings for Life Foundation of Red Bull as a local hero in Salzburg as a donation recipient, in addition to the already affiliated Letsplay4Charity partners. "
For both events, Letsplay4Charity e. V. will feature a multi-day live stream on Twitch from the halls of the respective event and collect donations for respective partnered institutions. Among others, the Wings for Life Foundation for Spinal Cord Research, Hilfe im Kampf gegen den Krebs e. V., Förderverein für krebskranke Kinder and the Jugendwohnheim St. Engelbert will be supported. The two charity streams are supported by sponsors Cipsoft, GamerLegion, LEGO Brickforce, Eurofunk and Teufel.
In the meantime, the board of the association has been expanded and newly staffed: Founder and previous chairman Ingo Horn has relinquished the position of chairman, but will continue to support the association with advice and full commitment. The new board consists of Dennis Henson as chairman, Jörn Leue as deputy chairman and Markus Hecker as treasurer. In the course of the board change, the association has also changed its registered office and is now registered through the Charlottenburg Local Court in Berlin.
"In the past year, together with our community, our partners and especially through our viewers and supporters, we have already been able to get considerable things off the ground. For this, we would like to sincerely thank everyone who has contributed. Without your support and participation, this would not have been possible." So Dennis Henson, Chairman of Letsplay4Charity e. V. "The awards are also a motivation for our joint commitment and they will spur us on and help us to win even more comrades-in-arms for the good cause in the future, whether as a member, sponsor or fellow campaigner."
