Wargaming rings in the new year with U.S. aircraft carriers
01/08/2024 - Wargaming starts the new year with a new series of US aircraft carriers in Early Access. The first update of 2024 also includes the construction of the Italian cruiser Michelangelo in the shipyard, a new version of bounty hunting and the return of cooperation with hololive production. Ranked battles and brawls are also returning.
U.S. aircraft carriers land in Early Access
At the launch of Update 13.0, there is a new set of U.S. aircraft carriers in Early Access, with three new ships, Tier VI Independence, Tier VIII Yorktown and Tier X Essex. These ships play differently as they are limited to a standard squadron - the torpedo bombers. These are supplemented by two tactical squadrons consisting of attack and dive bombers. From level VIII onwards, the tactical squadrons are equipped with the new consumable smoke curtain generator, which gives them a new tactical depth in combat.
To mark this new series, a special U.S. Aircraft Carriers event will take place. Across 20 levels of daily and weekly missions, players can unlock a range of rewards including commemorative flags, camouflage and containers. But that's not all, as players have the opportunity to unlock an additional progression line with 20 more levels.
Bounty hunting, brawls and battles galore!
The latest edition of the Bounty Hunt event will return to the game from February 1, 2024. Packed with lots of rewards, four new achievements, significant changes and access to the Star Envoy Collection, players won't want to miss out on this event! Players can unlock a range of bonuses and Star Envoy content via Random Packs, including two different ships, STAR Kitakaze and STAR Edinburgh, as well as two Commanders with ten skill points each.
Update 13.0 welcomes Season 15 and the return of Ranked Battles on January 10, plus three new gore battles begin on January 15. As always, the brawls will feature different rulesets to challenge the most daring teams in their quest for naval dominance!
For those who want to be a little less combative and a little more constructive, construction continues in the Sestri Ponente shipyard, where dedicated players will be rewarded with the level IX Italian cruiser Michelangelo.
Hololive production returns to World of Warships
As part of Update 13.0, World of Warships welcomes hololive production back to the game. Popular VTubers such as Shishiro Botan, Moona Hoshinova, Takanashi Kiara, Watson Amelia and many more will once again be available as commanders. In addition, there will also be consumable skins, flags and a camouflage pack for fans of hololive production for two weeks starting February 2, 2024.
