Closed beta test for THE FINALS announced
02/24/2023 - Do you have what it takes to reach The Finals? Starting March 7, a two-week closed beta of the virtual combat game show will take place. Participants can expect a free shooter in which player freedom is paramount. Teams fight in a completely destructible, dynamic environment in exciting matches to reach the finals.
"Many of us at Embark have been working on first-person shooters for more than two decades. But just when we thought we had left the genre behind, we discovered the Holy Grail among developers," says Rob Runesson, Executive Producer of The Finals. "Thanks to server-side destruction and movement, almost anything can be destroyed in The Finals. We want to breathe new life into a genre that has become somewhat monotonous. We can't wait to test The Finals with a large number of players to see if they agree with us. This way we can improve the game even more before release."
The Finals is still in development and beta participants can look forward to a number of improvements, changes and additions based on their feedback. The game offers several experimental features - such as server-side destruction and movement - and many of these will require multiple tests and adjustments to optimize.
Players will compete in virtual recreations of two iconic locations: the skyscrapers high above downtown Seoul and the old town of Monaco on the French Riviera. The beta also features a training area where participants can try out weapons, gadgets, movement and, most importantly, destruction. There is casual play as well as ranked tournaments and leaderboards where players can outdo each other. During the two weeks, participants can unlock weapons, gadgets, numerous cosmetic items and much more.
For a chance to be among the first participants of The Finals, players can sign up for the upcoming closed beta on PC via Steam and add The Finals to their wishlist.
