Remaster launch provides new features!
02/23/2022 - German developer gameXcite today releases the long-awaited remaster of the popular cross-platform building game Asterix and Friends for PC, Android, and iOS. The remaster is a technical remake of the once Flash-based version in the Unity Engine and brings a breath of fresh air to the Gaulish village with new content.
Brand new content awaits players of "Asterix & Friends". With the new remaster version of the game, players can now go on a great journey and visit famous places from the comic books such as Corsica, Spain or Britain with their heroes. More destinations will follow in the coming months. "Journeys" is a new gameplay feature with captivating adventures based on the locations, stories and humor of the popular comic book series. Each journey consists of a questline divided into five sections, each with nine chapters. Chapters unlock successively after successfully completing the previous chapter and reaching higher reputation levels with the local factions.
Through thoughtful planning and strategic selection of the right villagers and dere equipment, players can successfully master the increasingly challenging missions to improve their reputation and collect new lands currencies. Thus, they unlock exclusive items in the faction stores as well as new embellishments for their own village.
gameXcite has created in close cooperation with the license holder Lés Editions Albert René a new game character with its own exciting questline: Schokolatine, the wife of the blacksmith. She is the first female villager in the game and adds 60 new quests as well as a new "building": the garden.
With the remaster, players also get many opportunities to customize their village, not only thanks to the new decoration options that change the look of the palisades, bushes, meadows, rivers and more, but also through building upgrades that visualize their progress.
"Asterix & Friends Remaster" was part of the federal government`s De-Minimis grant and was supported by the German Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure.
