To commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day on June 6, 1944, World of Tanks presents a variety of activities. These include a new PvE mode, a themed Battle Pass season and historic livestreams commemorating the Allied landings in Normandy.

Starting June 6, players will have access to the brand new solo PvE mode "Operation Overlord". In this mode, players take control of an M4A3E8 Sherman tank to break through enemy defenses. In addition, they receive support from AI-controlled Allied reconnaissance aircraft and naval artillery, which inflict considerable damage on the targets.

Players will face additional challenges as the map is littered with deadly mines. The Sherman Crab, a specialized minesweeper tank, helps commanders by safely navigating the minefield and detonating landmines.

The themed D-Day Battle Pass season runs from June through September and includes three chapters. Each chapter offers the opportunity to unlock a new Tier VI Premium tank with Normandy-inspired 3D styling and three unique crew members. Other rewards include bonds, credits, premium playtime and equipment.

An interactive map of D-Day events allows players to learn more about the historical events and earn special tokens by completing themed missions. These tokens can be exchanged for premium vehicles, unique customizations and premium playtime.

On June 8 at 18:00 CEST, a live stream of LCT 7074, the only known surviving landing tank in the UK, will be broadcast on the official World of Tanks Twitch channel. Further livestreams will take place from June 28-30 during Tankfest, with mystery drops activated on the final day.

The D-Day events will run from June 3 to July 1. Players can explore the Normandy coastline and earn up to 90 tokens that can be exchanged for various rewards.
