Tank commanders celebrate 40th anniversary of G.I. JOE
10/14/2022 - In 1982, the G. I. JOE 33⁄4-inch action figures hit toy shelves, offering a new and adventurous gaming experience. World of Tanks celebrates this milestone in the G.I. JOE franchise with new 3D models, new female commanders, a G.I. JOE-themed web event and cool retro decals, emblems and lettering for all factions.
Hasbro's iconic G.I. JOE figures, Cover Girl and The Baroness (in Crimson Strike Force uniform), take control of the battles as World of Tanks commanders. Both commanders are ready for any challenge that combat may bring. But what's a skilled commander without an equally impressive vehicle? Players have two 3D styles inspired by G.I. JOE vehicles at their disposal: Cover Girl's WOLVERINE and COBRA C.A.T.
The G.I. JOE WOLVERINE WoT Edition is for the Strv S1, while the Baroness' C.A.T. (Crimson Attack Tank) WoT Edition is for the M54 Renegade. Further adventures await with a challenging G.I. JOE-themed web event where players can redeem codes to receive G.I. JOE 40th Anniversary emblems, as well as coupons to purchase G.I. JOE styles at a discount.
New decors and emblems will be available to mark this special occasion. A special customization element is the emblem adapted to the 40th anniversary of G.I. JOE. Tank drivers will also receive unique decals featuring the legendary G.I. JOE WOLVERINE and the COBRA C.A.T. (Crimson Attack Tank), depicted in all the retro glory of the original packaging. The emblems also include the G.I. JOE star and COBRA insignia.
