In Undawn, players team up with other survivors in a world that has been invaded by infected. The game combines PvP and PvE, where players must fight off both the wandering hordes and enemy humans to survive in the apocalyptic wasteland. Using the Unreal Engine, Undawn transports survivors into a vast environment filled with unique and seamlessly blended terrains and ecosystems. Using the robust building system that offers over 1,000 types of furniture, items and structures, players work together to build their homestead and establish a new civilization.

During their adventures, players will meet legendary survivor Trey Jones, played by movie star Will Smith. Trey helps the other survivors navigate the world four years after a worldwide disaster. To fight the battle against the infected, the survivors have joined different factions, each with their own rules for survival. As part of the famed Raven Squad, players face off against members of the Clowns, Eagles, Night Owls and Reivers to secure territory and make it through some of the darkest nights.
