Blowfish Studios announces multiplayer mecha action RPG
09/25/2023 - Blowfish Studios, a subsidiary of interactive entertainment company Animoca Brands, today announced that its mecha space opera PHANTOM GALAXIES will be released in free-to-play early access for PC on November 2, 2023. PHANTOM GALAXIES will be available on Steam, the Epic Games Store and the official website.
PHANTOM GALAXIES is a massive online multiplayer sci-fi action RPG set in a vast and immersive universe, featuring fast-paced mecha combat, high-octane action, and a compelling story and characters. After an interstellar war, the Commonwealth and the Union have joined forces to form the Ranger Squadron - a unit of elite mecha pilots dedicated to protecting human colonies on the frontiers of known space. Players take on the role of an ensign in the Ranger Squadron, piloting a transformed, mechanized starfighter to defend against attacks from ruthless pirates and insidious alien enemies - from marauding Junkers and paramilitary Brooksea to the reviled Xanorra and vicious Sha'har Zealots.
In PHANTOM GALAXIES, players can create unique characters, build and customize their transformative starfighters to fit their play style, engage in high-intensity combat in space or on the ground while protecting human colonies from vicious pirate hordes, fending off mysterious alien civilizations, and securing strategic locations to defend humanity's territory. Players can fight alone or team up with other pilots online. Players are free to choose between different mecha types that specialize in close, medium or long-range combat and are fully customizable to focus on attack, defense or both.
