Arms Race mode returns: new features and updates at a glance
02/07/2024 - The popular Arms Race mode is back and brings with it a wealth of new features. From a new weapon case to custom sticker placements and gameplay updates, here's everything players need to know to take their strategy to the next level.
Arms Race: The battle begins again
With the return of the Arms Race mode, players are once again faced with the challenge of winning twice with each weapon in order to reach the final stage. A new feature is the ability to steal your opponent's progress by using the knife or now also the Zeus. The path to victory leads via the knife stage, where the final kill ensures success.
Individuality through custom sticker placement
The introduction of custom sticker placement allows players to creatively customize their weapons with up to five stickers. Stickers are no longer tied to predetermined positions, but can be freely placed and rotated to create the perfect design.
New features: Gun case and more
The Kilowatt Weapon Case, CS2's first of its kind, includes 17 community-designed weapon finishes and introduces the Kukri Knife as a rare special item. In addition to these visual customizations, the Zeus x27 also gets attention by getting a weapon surface for the first time and now supports nameplates and stickers.
Stickers and music
In addition to the weapon case, the Ambush Sticker Capsule with 21 community stickers and the NIGHTMODE Music Kit Box will be introduced. These new additions are now available in-game and offer further customization options.
Gameplay updates and improvements
The updates include a variety of gameplay adjustments, including the introduction of a "Refund All" button in the purchase menu, settings to disable bullet tracers from a first-person perspective and improved player collisions. In addition, the Zeus can be reused in all game modes after a waiting time of 30 seconds and various adjustments have been made to the display of smoke.
Network and sound optimizations
Improvements in the network area are intended to reduce the peekers advantage, while new options in the audio area allow players to refine their VOIP settings. This includes input device selection and microphone threshold adjustment.
