Game description

Throne and Liberty

Throne and Liberty is an MMORPG characterized by a deep fantasy world and an extensive combat system. Developed by NCSOFT, the adventure is set in the world of Solisium, a war-torn world threatened by dark forces. Players band together in guilds to fight against the dark armies of the evil Kazar as they search for fragments of the Star of Sylaveth that can grant them great power.

A central aspect of the game is transformation. Players have the ability to transform into various creatures that allow them to move faster over land, water and through the air. This shape-shifting offers tactical advantages in combat and exploration, as players can take on different forms depending on the situation. Another important feature is the ability to adapt to the environment by cloaking your character to make yourself invisible or remain undetected.

In epic battles, players can even take on the form of defeated bosses to use their abilities and turn the tide of battle. This is part of the "Oath of the Guardian", which allows you to overpower particularly powerful enemies by using their powers for yourself.

The combat system of Throne and Liberty relies heavily on weapon mastery. Players who prove themselves in battle increase the power of their weapons over time, steadily improving their abilities. The weapons themselves are varied, ranging from swords and shields to large two-handed weapons and ranged weapons such as bows and crossbows. Each weapon has its own strengths and can shape the player's fighting style. For example, using a staff allows you to manipulate the weather and rain lightning down on enemies, while the crossbow deals quick damage over long distances.

The world of Solisium is alive and dynamic. The weather and the time of day are constantly changing, which not only influences the atmosphere but also the gameplay. Certain content and events are only accessible at certain times of day or under certain weather conditions. Gusts of wind can affect the trajectories of projectiles, and heavy rainfall can make progress more difficult.

Players explore different regions, from the town of Kastleton, where merchants sell their wares and citizens share valuable information, to the dangerous Monolith Wastelands, a desert contaminated by poisonous rains, where carnivorous plants and sand cobras lurk. In the ruins of the Titan's Lair, they encounter ancient secrets and deadly enemies, while the Crimson Forest is ruled by a traitor who has drained the forest of its life force.

For players looking for a challenge, the Shrines of Desire offer a special test: four entities embodying natural phenomena such as flames, tsunamis, typhoons and earthquakes confront the adventurers. Defeating these forces is the key to finding out who the real enemy is.

The guild wars are a central element of the game. Guilds fight for castles and strategic positions, using powerful golems and other resources to lay siege to enemy territory and gain control of valuable resources. Another strategic element is the transportation of tax money between fortresses, with rival guilds attempting to steal it.
