World of Warships celebrates summer with a concentrated load of new content

06/16/2022 - World of Warships kicks off its latest update with the return of convoy mode from update 0.10.8, featuring teams of 12 with ships of levels VIII-X, with two randomly distributed teams battling it out in an attack and defense skirmish over convoys of AI-controlled cargo ships on one of six different maps.
After being selected by players last fall, a brand new Faroe Islands map is released in World of Warships with this update. The battles on this new map, which is available for ships of higher ranks, take place in front of snow-covered mountain ranges.
A number of US destroyer models that have been present since the game's release have been drastically improved. Mahan, Benson, Fletcher and Gearing are all revised, with update 0.11.6 adding more of these updated US ships, including models of Sampson, Wickes, Clemson, Nicholas, Farragut and Sims.
In addition to the improvements to these models, the visual effects throughout the game have also been overhauled since the beginning of the year. These include major improvements with HD textures and local weather effects refined across eight maps, as well as new effects for firing guns, depth charges detonating underwater and on islands, and aircraft explosions on the decks of destroyed carriers.
