Roadmap for 2025 reveals new expansions and events

01/28/2025 - CCP Games has presented the roadmap for EVE Online 2025. Two major expansions, the return of popular events and the EVE Fanfest 2025 in Reykjavík are planned. Players can look forward to far-reaching innovations and dynamic gameplay.

CCP Games has presented the comprehensive plans for the space MMO EVE Online in 2025 in the Directors' Stream. In addition to two major expansions, the focus is on the return of well-known events and the EVE Fanfest 2025. This will take place from May 1 to 3 at the Harpa Concert Hall in Reykjavík. The first expansion, which will be released in summer 2025, will continue the story of Revenant and focus on the conflicts between the Deathless and the Drifters. The aim is to give players more control over their activities. New tools will allow players to create their own content and customize their own space. These developments are intended to further promote freedom and creativity within the sandbox of EVE Online.

Freelance projects and new possibilities

A significant new feature is the so-called Freelance Projects. This system allows players to create their own missions that can be completed by others. From mercenary missions to collaborative projects, it opens up new avenues for storytelling, conflict and relationship building in the universe of New Eden. Additionally, new ships, tactical objectives and tools for fleets of all sizes will be introduced. These new features are designed to make the sandbox even more versatile and offer players more opportunities for warfare and cooperation.

Popular events and a second major update

2025 will also see the return of popular events such as Capsuleer Day, Crimson Harvest and Winter Nexus. Fans of the Alliance Tournament can also look forward to exciting competitions between the best fleets in New Eden. The second expansion of the year is planned for winter 2025 and will bring further far-reaching changes and content to the game.

The EVE Fanfest 2025

A highlight of the year is the EVE Fanfest, for which tickets are almost sold out. In addition to the legendary Party at the Top of the World, the festival pass includes exclusive in-game content, a T-shirt and a goodie bag.
